Ideal for: Dessert/ Snack
Cuisine: French pastries, delicate desserts
Atmosphere: Small, walk-in bakery. There isn’t any sitting space.
What they say: Early in his career, Frédéric fell under the spell of Merveilleux cakes and has been paying tribute to this unique delicacy ever since. Enchanted by the world of cake making from the earliest age, Frédéric began an apprenticeship as a pastry chef at the age of 14. A determined character, Frédéric likes to point out that his know-how has been forged through his experiences of luck, failure, experiments and successes. Fortunately, pastry making has turned out to be the source of his personal and professional fulfilment.
What I say: I have been here once before upon stumbling by the small bakery and it has never disappointed. Baked goods a slightly pricier than the avery dessert, however totally worth it.
What we ordered:
- Chocolate Cramique (I have also had the sugar one before as well) Think big chocolate chip bread with perfect fluff.
- Magnifique: This is a perfectly whipped merengue & whip cream coated in a broken praline , almond and caramelized hazelnut mixture. (This is the treat I am holding in my photos). There are as well 6 other flavors , which I have yet to try. It is so difficult to control myself when I stop by this quaint little shop.
Service: Always so friendly and helpful with the treat names, as they can be difficult to pronounce unless you speak French.
What I loved:
The softness and robust flavor of the treats.
Bill for two: USD $12 for the two items.

Excuse my shoes. I was walking home (about 2.5 miles) this sunny Saturday afternoon to get some steps in.
