Preschool Prep with “Stuck on You”

To my mom’s out there, it is that time of year again…. Time to prep and shop for back to school essentials.

Somehow, the summer always seems to fly by a tad bit quicker each passing year; especially if you live in the northeast where we truly only have about three months of warm weather. By the time you get used to the summer schedule or make plans to squeeze in some beach days or summer events, it’s time to get back into school mode.

My son, “Mr. Cowboy” is only entering the beginning of pre-k prep, however prepping for the new year is no different than if he were entering kindergarten. I have found prepping for the new school year to be a bit overwhelming, yet exciting, as we shop for a new backpack, lunchbox, nap cot sheets, clothes, shoes, etc. Then comes the task of labeling everything and not just labeling all the items with a sharpie, [which still washes off after multiple washes] I know from experience; but finding cute, long-lasting labels.

I was recently introduced to “Stuck on You”, which offers personalized backpacks, lunchboxes, school supplies, labels, and more. YES, labels! Labels for everything from clothing to kids meal dishes. Another bonus, the labels are super cute, which interests the little one. Of course I was eager to submit an order of the cute labels and test how well they held up.

After browsing the “Stuck on You” site over several days and a number of hours, I eventually settled on three items; a super cute avocado lunchbox, a lunch bento box and of course, labels. It took me so long to decide, because there are so many cute items.

The bento box is not only super cute, compact and fun. It’s great to rely on one dish for packing lunches vs several tiny containers that make me feel like I am putting together a jigsaw puzzle trying to get everything to fit in the lunchbox.

I as well love the separate compartments within the bento box. The separate compartments keep the main entree from the snacks, or as well, separating the multiple ingredients for one meal to ensure they don’t get soggy before lunch time is even called.

My mind has already begun running with lunch ideas of meals I can prep for Mr. Cowboy to fulfil his little tummy, but as well keep him excited about lunch time.

Here are a few of the ideas I am already looking forward to pack;

  1. Fruit Parfait (Separate out the yogurt from the fruit and granola, so that the ingredients so get soggy prior to lunch).
  2. Vegies, fruit, cracker and lemon hummus.
  3. Black bean chips & guacamole + Side of fruit
  4. Pasta + a side of fruit
  5. Sunflower butter & Jelly + a side of fruit
  6. Spaghetti Squash vegan bolognaise + Side of fruit

In addition to the “Stuck on You” bento box, I elected to order the cute little avocado lunch box, since he absolutely loves “A-cados” (as he calls them). Figured it would be a pretty cute way to keep him excited about lunch time. Ahough he hasn’t actually used the lunchbox for school as of yet, he was immediately joyed when opening the delivery package and of course, wanted to go on a picnic.

Now, let’s get serious and talk about these cute little labels that I mentioned in the beginning. Yes, there’s a wide variety of colors and sizes to select from and cute little decals in which you can add to personalize them further, but the question is, “Do they hold through washes”? I did let him pick a color to add to his cups and thus far, through a week and multiple washes, they have held. Not only have they held, they don’t look dingy nor faded. I would say, “I am a fan”.

Since I was so impressed with how they have held up on his cups, which are washed repeatedly, I have since gone to add them to a number of his other school products, which regardless needed to be labeled as well. Instead of just take a sharpie to his other items, they are decorated with a colorful name sticker.

The list of items you can embellish with a name label is endless, really. Here is my shortlist of school items I have added the personalized stickers to;

  • School Cups
  • Other School containers
  • Art Smock
  • Disposable Camera
  • Sunscreen
  • Vapor Rub
  • Accessory box
  • Tablet

As I have mentioned previously, It took me some time to make a decision on my initial order, due to all of the cute items to select from. I have since been eying the kiddie preschool backpack and more labels.

Take a look below at some of the other adorable “Stuck on You” personalized items, which I think your little ones would enjoy.

“Stuck on You” has made two parts of going back to school a breeze, now if only I can cope with my little baby getting older too fast.

Enjoyed the read, please share below what some of your “must Have” school supplies are and please do share if I am missing anything on Mr. Cowboy’s school list?

    Came across your post by my preschool google search. I like the label idea, but also really liked that you included meal ideas with pics.

      Emily,

      I am glad you enjoyed. I’m always looking for vegan lunch inspiration, so if you have ideas, I’d love to hear about them.
